Easy Steamed Cod

Easy Steamed Cod that disappeared in minutes because the kids finished every single bit. Tender, flaky fish in a light savoury sauce, made with simple ingredients and hardly any effort. This is one of those easy family dinners that feels wholesome, delicious, and guaranteed to be on repeat.

Here’s how I do it!

Ingredients

3 cod steaks (500g)

10-15 slices of ginger

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp sesame oil

1/2 tsp sugar

Coriander

Method

1. Prepare marinade

• In a small bowl, mix together 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp sesame oil, and 1/2 tsp sugar.

2. Layer the dish

• Place ginger slices on the base of a heatproof steaming dish.

• Lay the fish fillet on top of the ginger.

3. Marinate

• Pour the marinade over the fish.

• Add some coriander (or spring onions) on top.

4. Steam

• Set up a wok with boiling water.

• Place the dish on the trivet and cover with a lid.

• Steam on high heat for 8-10 minutes.

5. Serve

• Remove from wok and serve immediately with warm rice.
