On days when I have no idea what to cook, or when I feel the kids need more protein, this easy steamed eggs recipe is my go-to. It’s quick, ready in under 15 minutes, nutritious, and always a hit with the kids.
Here’s how I do it!

3 eggs
2/3 cup water
1/4 tsp Salt
1 tbsp Soy sauce
1/2 tbsp Sesame oil
Method
1. Beat the eggs
• Crack the eggs into a bowl and gently whisk until the yolk and white are combined.
• Avoid making too many bubbles for a silky texture.
2. Mix with water
• Add water and salt.
• Mix gently until smooth.
3. Strain
• Pour the mixture through a fine sieve into a heatproof bowl.
• This step makes the steamed egg extra smooth.
4. Steam
• Bring water to a boil in a steamer or a pot with a lid.
• Place the bowl with the egg mixture on a steaming rack.
• Cover the bowl with cling wrap to prevent water droplets from falling in.
• Steam on low heat for 10 minutes until the egg is just set.
5. Serve
• Drizzle a little soy sauce and sesame oil, and enjoy warm!
