Easy Steamed Eggs

On days when I have no idea what to cook, or when I feel the kids need more protein, this easy steamed eggs recipe is my go-to. It’s quick, ready in under 15 minutes, nutritious, and always a hit with the kids.

Here’s how I do it!

Ingredients

3 eggs

2/3 cup water

1/4 tsp Salt

1 tbsp Soy sauce

1/2 tbsp Sesame oil

Method

1. Beat the eggs

β€’ Crack the eggs into a bowl and gently whisk until the yolk and white are combined.

β€’ Avoid making too many bubbles for a silky texture.

2. Mix with water

β€’ Add water and salt.

β€’ Mix gently until smooth.

3. Strain

β€’ Pour the mixture through a fine sieve into a heatproof bowl.

β€’ This step makes the steamed egg extra smooth.

4. Steam

β€’ Bring water to a boil in a steamer or a pot with a lid.

β€’ Place the bowl with the egg mixture on a steaming rack.

β€’ Cover the bowl with cling wrap to prevent water droplets from falling in.

β€’ Steam on low heat for 10 minutes until the egg is just set.

5. Serve

β€’ Drizzle a little soy sauce and sesame oil, and enjoy warm!
