On days when I have no idea what to cook, or when I feel the kids need more protein, this easy steamed eggs recipe is my go-to. Itβs quick, ready in under 15 minutes, nutritious, and always a hit with the kids.
Hereβs how I do it!
Ingredients
3 eggs
2/3 cup water
1/4 tsp Salt
1 tbsp Soy sauce
1/2 tbsp Sesame oil
Method
1. Beat the eggs
β’ Crack the eggs into a bowl and gently whisk until the yolk and white are combined.
β’ Avoid making too many bubbles for a silky texture.
2. Mix with water
β’ Add water and salt.
β’ Mix gently until smooth.
3. Strain
β’ Pour the mixture through a fine sieve into a heatproof bowl.
β’ This step makes the steamed egg extra smooth.
4. Steam
β’ Bring water to a boil in a steamer or a pot with a lid.
β’ Place the bowl with the egg mixture on a steaming rack.
β’ Cover the bowl with cling wrap to prevent water droplets from falling in.
β’ Steam on low heat for 10 minutes until the egg is just set.
5. Serve
β’ Drizzle a little soy sauce and sesame oil, and enjoy warm!
