I recently started Pilates reformer classes, and I have to say… it feels so much more wholesome than mat Pilates! It’s a full-body workout, and the springs act like resistance bands — really challenges your muscles in a way mat Pilates can’t.
I’ve tried quite a few pilates reformer classes via ClassPass (get free credits: here!), and here’s the thing: some are easy, some are tough, and some… are INSANE. Somehow, I still haven’t found a class that perfectly matches my strength. That’s when I thought: maybe I should just get one for home practice?
But space isn’t infinite, right? That’s when I started searching for a foldable Pilates reformer… and found one through a contact in China, and they ship it directly to my place!
It finally arrived about 3 weeks later, and my only gripe? It didn’t come with instructions. I asked the seller for guidance, and the videos they sent… well, let’s just say they weren’t very helpful 😅.
After 2 hours of trial, error, and an intense workout just trying to figure it out, I finally got the hang of it. And now I can practise anytime at home! Honestly, I’m loving it!
Alternatively, I found a seller on Lazada offering the same item, but at double the price I paid! Here’s the link if you’d prefer that option: here! Or if you trust me and would like me to make a purchase on your behalf, do send me a DM in my Instagram or Tiktok!
Note: There are also steel-frame reformers on the market, but they don’t use springs. They save space, but I feel the wooden ones are definitely sturdier — which is why Pilates reformer classes usually use wooden frames.
