Ingredients
1 fillet halibut (~180g), cut into bite-sized pieces
½ cup potato starch
1 egg, beaten
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
2 tbsp oil (for frying)
Dipping Sauce
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
½ tsp sesame seeds
Method
1. Prep the Fish
• Pat the halibut dry and season with salt and pepper.
• Lightly dust each piece with potato starch to help the batter stick.
2. Make the Batter
• Beat 1 egg in a shallow bowl.
• Dip each floured fish piece into the egg mixture, coating evenly.
3. Fry Until Crispy
• Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan over medium heat.
• Fry fish pieces for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
• Drain on a paper towel.
4. Make the Dipping Sauce
• Mix soy sauce, apple cider vinegar and sesame seeds in a small bowl.
