Feeling lazy but still want something healthy and delicious? This easy steamed fish recipe is the perfect way to whip up a nutritious meal in minutes β no fuss, just fresh flavours!
Hereβs how I do it!
Ingredients
1 fish fillet (I prefer threadfin)
5 slices of ginger
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
1/2 tsp sugar
Coriander or spring onions (optional)
Method
1. Prepare marinade
β’ In a small bowl, mix together 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp sesame oil, and 1/2 tsp sugar.
2. Layer the dish
β’ Place ginger slices on the base of a heatproof steaming dish.
β’ Lay the fish fillet on top of the ginger.
3. Marinate
β’ Pour the marinade over the fish.
β’ Add some coriander or spring onions on top.
4. Steam
β’ Set up a wok with boiling water.
β’ Place the dish on the trivet and cover with a lid.
β’ Steam on high heat for:
– 7β8 minutes if fillet is thin (under 1.5cm)
– 9β10 minutes if fillet is thicker (up to 2.5cm)
5. Serve
β’ Remove from wok and serve immediately with warm rice.
